The 5-Minute Video Formula: Content Without Overwhelm
Feb 17, 2025
If you’re a coach, trainer, or creator, you already know that video is one of the most effective ways to connect with your audience, build trust, and grow your business. But if you’ve ever found yourself overthinking video content—wondering what to say, how to structure it, or how to avoid rambling—you’re not alone.
The good news? You don’t need a script, fancy editing, or hours of preparation. You just need a simple, repeatable formula to help you create clear, engaging, and actionable videos—fast.
Today's 5-Minute Video Formula is designed to help you create compelling content without the headache, every time.
Step 1: Hook (0:00 – 0:30)
Your first 30 seconds matter the most. If you don’t grab attention quickly, people will scroll away.
👉 How to do it:
- Start with a bold statement, a question, or a relatable struggle.
- Address your audience’s biggest challenge or pain point right away.
💡 Example:
❌ “Hi, I’m [Name], and today I want to talk about…” (Too slow and predictable!)
✅ “Struggling to make engaging videos? Here’s a simple formula to create them in five minutes—without overthinking!”
Step 2: Teach (0:30 – 3:30)
This is where you deliver the value, so keep it focused and actionable—no filler or fluff!
👉 How to do it:
- Share one main point (avoid cramming too much into a short video).
- Use the “What, Why, How” approach:
- What is the problem?
- Why does it matter?
- How can your audience fix it?
💡 Example:
- What: Many coaches struggle with video because they overcomplicate it.
- Why: Overthinking leads to procrastination, which means missed opportunities.
- How: Use this 5-minute video formula to get started today.
Step 3: Call to Action (3:30 – 5:00)
Don’t let your video end without guiding your viewers on what to do next. A strong CTA (call to action) turns passive viewers into an engaged viewer, follower or client
👉 How to do it:
- Ask them to comment, like, or share if they found it helpful.
- Direct them to a next step—whether that’s joining your email list, downloading a resource, or signing up for your masterclass.
